Last living survivor of the great scottish-jewish music-hall tradition, Mr. Diagonal invites us into his private universe for an enchanted evening of after-dinner Rock‘n’Roll. We find ourselves on a personal visit of his museum of the impossible, to a soundtrack shot through with english pop, galactic glam rock and geriatric nursery rhymes, here accompanied by The Black Light Orchestra, Belgium’s premier pocket surrealist pop ensemble. A show for all lovers of ahistorical costume drama, british humour and inclassable music, and for all who have ever known and loved Mr Jack, Mr Ben and Mr Bean. They took the isles by storm last March. The approaching sonic typhoon is expected to be even greater this time. If you haven't seen them, you haven't lived. You owe it to yourself!
 
●Mr.Diagonal and The Black Light Orchestra
The Black Light Orchestra was founded by Mr. Diagonal a.k.a. Daniel from Scotland and Quentin (flute) from Belgium. They first met in the squatted dwelling that numerous artists unlawfully occupied. Later joined Eric (p), Greg (sax), and Yannick (dr) - all are arguably la crème de la crème of the Brussels music scene. The Black Light Orchestra, although a relatively new band, has already been commissioned to create a musical, music for a film and featured on a Japanese TV (Music Tide on BS-i). The highly playful music performed by classically-trained musicians can entertain from adults to children for it is like an amusement park made of sound. They first visited Japan in February this year, and were paid the highest praises in various places. The endless encore was finally answered and the second visit to Japan has been finalised. We are glad to announce that the music that brought all of us so much happiness will be delivered to Japan again!
●LES-SEPTEMBRIST The group have the tendencies to change their name each month: in November they are called the Novembristeses, in December the Décembristeses, in January the Janvieristeses...

From their rock and jazz influences, from their love for women, sea and barbecues, a manifest appeared: to encourage holidays and to discourage the system of work.

Since the year 2000, they have toured Moscow, Madrid, St. Petersbourg, Kiev, Berlin, Dunkerque, Paris, Geneva and of course Belgium. They sing in a language of birds to a passerby as they play experimental jazz for the mountain and the contests of sand castles lead to the wild salsa - meanwhile, always dreaming of... vacations.
They sell their CDs and the responsibility of production and distribution of which is entrusted to the listeners rather than to the vultures from the major labels.


 

●Buriki Circus


Buriki Circus (tinplate circus) is an idiosyncratic band experimenting polygamistic marriage of 1920's Japanese stage comedy, Russian/Eastern European Music, Cabaret music and Tango. Roaring 20's music influences are all mixed in one musical cocktail with a touch of Japanese flavour and yet it is a re-invention of today's music rather than an imitation of yesterday's.
